White dress shirt details? check. Black buttons? check. Super feminine? Check! I want to make the exact swimsuit the lady in the middle is wearing!

What's Old Is New
[click pictures to enlarge]
I love the unique look of this bustier maillot (corseted one-piece). Again, another Anthropologie nail on the head. I die over old vintage swimsuits recreated to look new and modern. The parallel ruffles are so feminine. Except, I like how the "old" style has a contrasting color for the ruffles. I think it makes it stand out more. I am also loving the curves of that red-headed model. And those lips! If only I could pull off red lipstick when I wear a swimsuit. I need to figure out how to make this suit. Any ideas? I think it involves tons of boning.

Anthro is on the right Track
Do these look familiar? Well if you look at my last post, the pattern featured in the middle has similar suits on the models on the right. These Anthropologie swimsuits have slight variations but very similar! I plan on making both of these suits for people this year. Any takers?

Vintage Sewing Patterns
This swimsuit pattern I found on ebay! I love the ruffly one-shoulder. I also recently made a swimsuit that looks like the bottom left. (I made it before I even found this pattern, such a coincidence). I like how you can add straps for comfort.
I also found this 70s pattern on ebay. I love how it comes in four different styles (i wont be making the bikini ones) The suits on the right remind me of a couple suits I recently saw on the Anthropologie website.
This pattern I found while rummaging through the local Deseret Industries thrift store. Only 50 cents! Not only is the red polka dot suit ridiculously cute but I also like the slouchy look of the suit on the right, very interesting.
I am always on the look out for vintage sewing patterns. If you find any, let me know!
Welcome!
Welcome to my new blog, Coyfish Swimwear! A little bit about myself: My name is Crystal Gilliam, I just graduated from Brigham Young University. I majored in Home and Family Living with an emphasis in Clothing design and Interior design. I love fashion and design of all sorts and I have fallen in love with sewing swimwear. This blog is my latest project. I will be sewing a swimsuit every month for friends, family, whoever! I believe swimsuits should be special. I am inspired by the modesty, class, and style of vintage swimsuits and I will be posting some of my inspiration as well as my sewing progress. Feel free to leave comments. Enjoy!
